INVERNAHAVON CARAVAN SITE

Things to do

For the energetic and adventurous there is Hill Walking and Rock Climbing with the chance of seeing a rare but Majestic Golden Eagle or even some Ptarmagan.

If you prefer water sports, try Windsurfing or Sailing at Loch Inch. The local rivers also offer a wide variety of conditions for Canoeing.

For the really adventurous the Gliding club, a few miles beyond Kincraig, offers trips to the public which give an exciting view of the beautiful Spey Valley and Cairngorm Mountains.

Pony Trekking is offered at a number of places and if you feel more at ease on a bicycle than a horse, why not rent a Mountain Bike and ride the forest tracks.

Less hectic pursuits include Golf on on courses at Newtonmore (3 miles), Kingussie (6 miles), Boat of Garten (30 miles) and many more within an hours drive.

There is game and course Fishing on the River Spey and River Truim, both of which are adjacent to the Site. Day tickets can be purchased at the shop.

For those who love nature there are bird sanctuaries and a wildlife park as well as the Cairngorm National Nature Reserve. Even a quiet walk through the woods and forests at Glentruim offers the chance to see many species including Red Deer, Roe Deer, Red Squirrel, Pine Martin, Wild Cat and Buzzards.

Take a pocket nature book and it is possible to recognise species which you may never have heard of, let alone seen.
