Over the years, Gergask
Primary School has had many pen pals. We have had pen
pals from France, Sweden, and even Scotland, but now we
have pen pals from New Hampshire, U.S.A.
In the past we have sent the Swedish and French pen
pals many letters, and a map of Scotland each. We also
sent our Swedish pen pals a book of famous Scots.
We created an alphabetical frieze about the forests
of our countries with the French and Swedish pen pals.
The frieze is now pinned up in Laggan Village Hall. We
each got a copy to keep too.
We have made a book about horses with France and
Sweden called Story of a Horse. You can buy them at
Gergask Primary School for £7.50.

A few years ago the Swedish pen
pals came over to Scotland and we went to Landmark — a
forest park. We visited many other places as well, but
Landmark was the best. I think the Swedish enjoyed their
stay.
To stay in touch with our pen pals
at Dalwhinnie, we frequently e-mail each other.
Dalwhinnie is our nearest school, only 7 miles over the
hill. Every Christmas we have lunch and a party with
them in the village hail. We also go to Dalwhinnie
Primary to visit them and sometimes do treechipping.

We are very excited to have new
American pen pals. We will be sending them gifts,
exchanging knowledge of our countries, and posting maps
and postcards.
