The Highland Council has given us at Gergask Primary
School a challenge to recycle paper.
In January 2003 this project was started in Inverness
and was very successful.
All the schools in
Badenoch and Strathspey started recycling their waste
paper in January 2004. This trial will operate until the
summer term. We hope the scheme will continue for much
longer.

Recycling paper is a good idea because landfill sites
are filling up fast and we are running out of space for
rubbish. The more paper we recycle the fewer trees we
cut down.
In class we have blue recycling bins in every room.
Then we weigh it all and put it in a big bin out side.
If we collect 2KG for
every child in the school every week we will get a Gold
award from the Highland Council! !
