Gergask Primary School

Unfortunately in September 2022, Gergask Primary School was closed temporarily by Highland Council due to falling pupil numbers. In Sept 2023, Highland Council issued a consultation proposal to formally close the school.

In the event that the closure proposal is confirmed a formal request is then sent to Scottish Government ministers to verify the proposal. This is scheduled to occur prior to Easter 2024. Without additional intervention, it is likely that the school will close during the summer of 2024. The fate of the school builidng and grounds will be up for discussion within the community and Highland Council have indicated they are willing to explore all reasonable options.
