Microgrants

Microgrants of up to £1000 are available on application from the Stronelairg Community Fund (SSE Fund) to support Laggan projects. Applications are welcomed from residents and community groups serving the Laggan area. These grants are administered by Laggan Community Council. Student Grants

Laggan Community Council, in conjunction with the Stronelairg Community Fund have established a Learning and Development Grant to assist residents of Laggan with the costs of study at Further, Higher Education levels, distance learning and vocational courses with a recognised qualification. Individuals can apply for a maximum of £500 per year of study. For more information and to apply for a grant, please read the information sheet and complete the application form. Applications can be made at any time during the year, using the form below, even if you have already started the course. Please do read the guidance information before applying. Apprenticeship grants

The Apprenticeship Scheme is a grant scheme set up to benefit residents within the boundaries of the areas served by the four Community Councils of Fort Augustus and Glenmoriston, Invergarry,Stratherrick & Foyers and Laggan within the Highlands of Scotland.

Whilst we expect the business to invest in the training, of their apprentice both in terms of time and money, financial support will be available to assist with costs involved in salaries, travel andelements of training. The final amount awarded will vary depending on the demonstrated needs ofeach business and that of the apprentice and the specific priorities of each community. More information here

Stronelairg & Dunmaglass Wind Farms Scholarship Fund

Additionally the Stronelairg & Dunmaglass Wind Farms Scholarship Fund is Open. The fund supports people of all ages into college and university by providing two scholarships of £5,000 to students who are studying one or a combination of science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) courses in the coming academic year. The funds are paid towards the scholar’s student loan, reducing the amount needing repaid when graduating.
