Posted on
Following on from previous consultations with SSEN-T regarding the construction of a new substation for the Loch Earba Pumped Hydro Scheme project, a further meeting has been arranged for Thursday 27 November at Laggan Community Hall from 18:00 –19:30.
The meeting is to discuss their report on the consultation and which can be found here.
The report provides a summary of the feedback received from Laggan Community as well as from other interested parties. It outlines how the feedback was considered, and confirms that substation site Option 1 (Coire Mashie) is being taken forward to the next stage of development.
SSEN-T have acknowledged that this outcome does not reflect the views expressed by the community and this meeting is to explain further how the community feedback was considered and the rationale behind their decision.
Other information including the Additional Site Options appraisal from an engineering and environmental perspective for sites 6 & 7 (the community proposals), has been published at https://www.ssen-transmission.co.uk/projects/project-map/new-coire-mashie-400kv-substation-and-earba-psh-connection/. Please click on the Documents Tab to access these materials. The design of the substation itself is still subject to change, however, as engagement continues.
There is also a link to the 3D Visual portal with images of the proposed development sites which can be found at https://www.3dwtech.co.uk/dashboard/ssen/earba-and-coire-mashie/portal-en/
Please come along if you are able. If you cannot attend but wish to raise a question or make a point, please send these to secretarylcc@laggan.com
